Shoe Drive, Sidewalk & Porch Sale - April 4
Spring has sprung, and what better way to enjoy it than shopping outdoors in Historic Downtown Glendale and Catlin Court! Bring your walking shoes, and a pair of shoes to donate during the 6th annual Sidewalk & Porch sale on Saturday, April 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will include many businesses offering discounts up to 50 percent off. Along the way lemonade stands and ice cream treats will be available to keep everyone cool. Many of the shops and eateries will participate in the shopping event with activities, demonstrations, make-and-take crafts and more. Glendale Family Bike Ride - April 12
This annual community event allows hundreds of riders to enjoy wonderful weather and great exercise. This is a ride for all ages and levels of riders, from kids to adults. This year’s ride will feature three routes – short, long, and extended (6, 15, or 23 miles). Bicyclists will take a leisurely ride through Glendale’s neighborhoods and sections of the Thunderbird Paseo, Skunk Creek pathways, and across the pedestrian/bicycle bridge over Loop 101.

Forever Young Running Series - April 19
The Half Marathon course runs along beautiful tree-lined city streets, finishing up as a nature run along the New River Nature Trail. Also offered is a 10K and 5K run/walk with two courses incorporating both city streets and nature courses. Entertainment such as Hot Rod Alley, music, a cheer squad and much more greet you along the way and at the finish line! See all the info at

Redneck Run & Plunger Relay - April 4
Get yir entry to a rootin' tootin' good time! The Redneck Run, featuring both an individual 10k & 5k and a 10k “Plunger” Relay. Yup, the relay baton and timing chip is a toilet plunger! (a new one of course!) There’s also a “country mile” run for the buckaroos. There will be plunger decorating and prizes for the best decorated, plus lots of other fun and games in Honky Tonk Village - cow milking, bag toss, inflatables, and more... with live entertainment along the coursealong with bands on the Honky Tonk Stage at the start/finish. All 10k 5k and relay participants receive a unique finishers medal, a technical running shirt, and a beer at Whiskey Rose (21 and over only!). For all race info, visit
