The 2019 CONCACAF (Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football) Gold Cup is coming back to State Farm Stadium for a semifinal match to be played starting at 7 p.m. on July 2. Glendale, Arizona is one of the 13 cities that will host the CONCACAF matches this year! This is only the third time one of the Gold Cup matches have been played in the Valley. The previous matches were played in 2015, when Jamaica vs. Canada played, and 2017 when Panama vs. Mexico.
For the uninitiated, the CONCACAF Gold Cup is the official national team championship of the region and takes place every two years. It’s a celebration of soccer, sportsmanship, and culture and is truly an international event, drawing large crowds and millions of television viewers across the region.
