GLENDALE GLITTER & GLOW (SATURDAY, JANUARY 11)
Glendale’s must-see finale to its annual holiday light display also ushers in a new year, as Glendale Glitter & Glow welcomes visitors to Glendale Saturday, Jan. 11, 4-10 p.m. Mark your calendar now to attend one of the most popular events across the Valley!
Take in the stunning 1.6 million LED lights, along with colorful hot air balloons glowing throughout several blocks of Historic Downtown Glendale. A highlight for visitors will be mass glows, in which the balloon pilots will fire the balloons all at once to create an illuminating spectacle.
Along with dazzling lights and glowing balloons, music is a big highlight of the event, and a variety of bands will be performing throughout the downtown area, including: Randy Altergott (country and rock); Soul Power Band (Motown and R&B); People Who Could Fly (cover band, top hits); Pearl Ridge Duo (cover band, variety) Sophie Dorsten (indie folk); Blaine Long and Rosas Del Rey (bluesy rock and reggae); as well as DJ Dangerous spinning hit music all evening long. In addition, several community groups will be performing on the E. Lowell Rogers Amphitheatre stage in Murphy Park.
Admission is free! Hop on the free shuttle from Glendale Community College, at 59th and Olive avenues, which pick up from the northeast parking lots, off 59th Avenue. There is limited free street parking in and around the downtown, but event attendees will have the option of paying for preferred parking in the two downtown garages, both accessible from 59th Avenue.

1. What are the festival dates?
a. Glendale Glitters Spectacular Weekend: November 29-30, 2019, 5-10 pm

2. How can I become a vendor at a Downtown Festival?

3. Where can I park for the festivals?
a. There is $10 paid parking available at the City Hall and Bank of America parking garage located at 5800 W Glenn Dr, Glendale, AZ 85301.
b. The handicap spaces are free in the parking garages and are based on availability.
c. For Glendale Glitters Spectacular Weekend and Glitter & Glow, there is a free shuttle offered from Glendale Community College.
d. There are surrounding surface lots that are also available around the area.
4. Is there a shuttle offered to Downtown?
a. For Glendale Glitters Spectacular Weekend and Glitter & Glow there is a free shuttle, sponsored by BlueCross BlueShield of Arizona, offered from Glendale Community College
b. The shuttle pick-up at Glendale Community College is in the North lot (off 59th and Vogel)
c. The shuttle departs Glendale Community college 30 minutes prior to the festival start time and the last shuttle departs Downtown at 10:15 each night offered.
5. What dates / times will the lights be on?
a. Lights turn on with the Glendale Glitters Spectacular Weekend. Friday evening at 6 pm
b. They remain on nightly through Glitter & Glow from 5-10 pm
6. What happens in Downtown on the nights there are no festivals?
a. The holiday lights remain on each evening from 5-10 pm
b. On select nights a horse and carriage rides are offered. The cost is $25 per carriage and up to 6 people per carriage

7. For Glitter & Glow, what are the hours for the glowing balloons?
a. The balloons will be glowing from dark until 10 pm.
8. For Glitter & Glow, will the event be cancelled if it rains?
a. No, the event will not be cancelled if it rains. Generally, people still attend the event and are prepared with umbrellas, etc.
