Annual City of Glendale Special Events

Summer Band Concert Series - Music lovers of all ages will be entertained by this community band of approximately 100 musicians with its renditions of marches, polkas, movie medleys and other worldly tunes. The longest running community band in Arizona, runs every Thursday in June-July, with a special performance of patriotic performances near the July 4 holiday.
Glendale Glitters Spectacular Weekend - the kickoff to our holiday light season begins the day after Thanksgiving, with a special guest on hand to turn on the lights for the season. The two-day "spectacular" features our over 1.5 million lights, local arts & craft vendors, as well as all sorts of festival fare and frivolity.
Jingle Bell Rockin' Nights - One of the grooviest weekends leading up to Christmas, Jingle Bell Rockin' Nights is all about the music of the season! Local and national bands come to play not just old standards, but fun and funky versions so you can get into the fabulous spirit or the season.
Winter Wonderland - Snow, in Glendale? If you play your cards right, you can find it! In the past, our Winter Wonderland has been filled with snow fields, ice skate rinks and faux snow raining down. Who knows what treats are in store for next year?
Spirit of Giving - The holiday season is more than just taking time out for family, but for those who need something extra. Whether you volunteer or donate to local food banks, pluck a "Christmas Angel" off a tree in local malls, or participate in our Spirit of Giving weekend charity, your heart will be anything but three sizes too small.
Glitter and Glow - As a sign off to our holiday lighting season, we pull out all the stops mid-January for GLOW. Last year more than 2 dozen tethered hot air balloons lined the downtown streets to offer a few more magical moments to our winter full of fun.
Glendale Chocolate Affaire - Know as "the sweetest festival in town," the Glendale Chocolate Affaire, which usually takes place the week before Valentine's Day, is sure to make your sweet tooth sing. From chocolate-dipped fruits and wine pairings, to the more adventurous truffles and chocolate-dipped potato chips, we have a little bit of everything, and that little bit is dipped in chocolate
